We are excited to announce that our CD, "My Life Is My Sun Dance: Prison Writings of Leonard Peltier," won the "Best Spoken Word" award at the 13th annual Native American Music Awards on October 7th, 2011.
We have received a total of 5 Native American Music Awards nominations this year!
The CD, "My Life Is My Sun Dance: Prison Writings of Leonard Peltier" has been nominated for Best Historical and Best Spoken Word recordings. The CD features readings of Peltier's words, by best-selling author and former National Geographic writer/editor of 23 years, Harvey Arden, with musical accompaniment by Rev. Goat Carson & the New Orleans Light.
The CD, "Noble Red Man: Lakota Wisdomkeeper Mathew King" has also been nominated for Best Historical and Best Spoken Word recording. It too consists of readings by Harvey Arden, with musical accompaniment by Jeff Foreman and David Lee
Harvey Arden was also nominated for the "Native Heart" award for his work on the "Noble Red Man" CD.
We couldn't be happier with the honor of being nominated, and the joy of winning a NAMMY! Thanks to everyone that voted for these CDs and supported us along the way!
